We are really eager to impart you our comments on usability , future plans and user comments of the products. but we find it really hard to find a product on our local market even months after release of the product . Now finally it reached our desktop so that we can give you a real hands on of the product.
Have you checked www.ServerBootCamp Yet ???!!!
the product we got our hands on is a mileap X with a blue casing . The blue protective cover makes this tiny piece of electronics almost shokproof and make it ready for the road. But it also gives a toy look to the product too. If you don’t like that casing it can be detached from the leaptop and make your leaptop even thinner.
We personally find the product appealing . the price tag is Rs. 16,000 instead of the Rs. 14,000 what HCL announced . On a closer inspection I come to know that this model contains a 30 GB hard disk drive instead of a 4 GB Flash drive.
It is a nice move but I will be happier I get the hard disk on the same price tag of Rs. 14,000 !!!!!!.
This product is convenient for a person who do a lot of commuting and want to spend his time productively. The absence of an optical media does not bothered me as it has two USB drives .
The HCL spec says that it has a 2 in one card reader but I could not locate it at first try. After a lot of fiddling I opened the blue casing to expose the card reader.
It is true that I an normally not using a memory reader regularly , but this will be an annoying factor for a person who is regularly using an SD-card to transfer the data to remove the outer jacket each time to insert the card. Intel could find a better place for the memory reader.
The network jack and USB slot are placed nicely and are easily accessible

All said and done , it is a nice product to get your hands on . But how will an average indian customer reacts to this move is yet to be analyzed .
